Warehouse Operative - Load and Unload

Fortnum & Mason is one of Britain’s best known retail brands, known for luxury food, hampers and gifts. They are currently recruiting Warehouse Operatives to join their Gatwick logistics hub and support their expanding operations. It’s a hands-on job at the very centre of their supply chain – making sure stock comes in, is processed correctly and goes out on time.

You don’t need previous warehouse experience but you will need to be reliable, physically fit and happy to work structured shifts. The hub operates 5am-11pm so some flexibility with shifts between those hours is expected during the week including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload stock from delivery vehicles at the hub
• Organise goods into delivery routes using scanning systems
• Prepare bulk pallets for dispatch and secure all loads correctly
• Communicate load conditions clearly to drivers
• Complete necessary paperwork and dispatch documentation
• Maintain health and safety standards at all times
• Keep the warehouse floor clean, organised, and safe throughout the shift

Skills Required

• Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling
• Good attention to detail — accuracy matters when organising loads
• Reliable and punctual — shift start times can be as early as 5am
• Comfortable using scanning and warehouse management systems
• Basic English communication skills for coordinating with drivers and colleagues

Salary

Pay is £13.39 per hour. Overtime is available at a premium rate. Weekly pay structure means you're not waiting a month to see your earnings.
