Job Description
Nuffield Health is the largest healthcare charity in the UK. They run hospitals, gyms and wellbeing clinics across the country. Their Blackfriars centre in Birmingham is looking for a Receptionist to be the first point of contact for everyone who walks through the door.This is a customer facing role.
You’ll be on the desk every day, greeting members, taking calls, booking appointments and keeping everything ticking over at front of house. This is a good full time role with a well known employer in Birmingham if you are organised, friendly and good with people.
Job Role:
- Welcome members and visitors as they arrive and make them feel at ease
- Answer incoming calls and direct them to the right department or person
- Book appointments and manage the diary for the centre
- Handle membership queries — sign ups, renewals, and cancellations
- Process payments and keep till records accurate
- Deal with complaints calmly and pass anything serious to the manager
- Keep the reception area tidy and presentable throughout the day
- Support other departments with admin tasks when the desk is quiet
Pay and Hours
- £24,000 – £28,000 per year based on experience
- Full time: 37.5 hours per week
- Monday to Friday with some weekend shifts on a rota basis
- 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays

Requirements
- Right to work in the UK
- Previous experience in a receptionist, customer service, or front of house role is preferred
- Good spoken and written English — you will be communicating all day
- Comfortable using a computer and booking systems
- Smart and presentable — you are the first thing people see when they walk in
- Calm under pressure — reception desks get busy and you need to handle it without flustering
- Reliable and punctual — the front desk cannot be left unmanned
