Financial Analyst & Business Planning | Amazon Remote Job

The retail finance team at Amazon is looking for a Financial Analyst to support planning, forecasting and business reporting. You will work with large data sets, build financial models and present findings to business leads who need clear numbers to make decisions.

Amazon moves fast, and they want their finance team to move fast. You’re not going to wait for someone to tell you what to analyze – you’re supposed to figure out the problems, ask questions and actively offer solutions.

Most of your work is in Excel and internal Amazon tools. Extract data, clean it, build models, and tell a clear story to non-finance stakeholders. Some weeks have a lot of forecasting cycles. The others are more project-based.

Amazon is one of the largest companies in the world and is headquartered in Seattle, Washington. Their business beyond retail includes AWS, advertising platforms, logistics networks, and more. Their finance teams are in each of these divisions, and they do quite a bit of remote hiring.

Responsibilities

• Monthly and quarterly update and creation of financial models
• Support annual planning and mid-year forecast cycles
• Analyzing business results, pointing out variances
• Prepare executive reports and presentations
• Working with operations and business teams on budgeting
• Automating repetitive reports in Excel or SQL where possible

Required Skills

• Advanced Excel – Pivot tables, financial modeling, advanced formulas
• Basic to Intermediate SQL for Data Query
• Analytical thinking and attention to detail.
• Ability to clearly communicate financial information to non-finance teams
• Works independently on multiple projects with comfort
• Large corporate finance background or Amazon experience a plus
