They are now looking for people who are good at certain subjects and can teach students over the internet from their own homes, on a flexible schedule.
No teaching degree or tutoring experience is required to apply. If you are good at a subject – be it Maths, Science, English, History or anything else, and can explain things clearly to a student, Chegg wants to hear from you. This job is perfect for college graduates, working professionals or anyone who likes helping people learn.
The classes are virtual, on Chegg’s own platform, so you don’t have to set up anything yourself. All you have to do is log in, get matched with a student and help where the student needs help. Sessions are as little as 30 minutes so they fit easily in any schedule.
Job Responsiblity:
- Conduct one on one online tutoring sessions with students
- Help students understand concepts they are finding difficult
- Answer subject related questions clearly and patiently
- Prepare simple notes or explanations before sessions if needed
- Give feedback to students on their work when asked
- Maintain a good rating by delivering quality sessions consistently
Requirements
- Strong knowledge in at least one subject area
- Ability to explain concepts in a simple and clear way
- Good written and spoken English
- A laptop or PC with a webcam and stable internet connection
- Patient and comfortable working with students of different levels
- No teaching degree required — subject knowledge is what matters
Experience
No prior tutoring or teaching experience is required. If you have a college degree or strong subject knowledge, that is enough to get started. Chegg provides all the tools and platform support you need once you join.
Working Hours
- Completely flexible — you set your own availability
- Work as little or as much as you want
- Sessions are usually 30 minutes to 1 hour long
- No minimum hours required per week
