Job Description
Pure Barre is one of the biggest barre fitness studio chains in the United States. They have studios across the country and thousands of members who attend classes every week. Their Houston studio is hiring a full time Barre Instructor right now.
This job is for someone who loves fitness, enjoys working with people, and can lead a class with confidence. You will be teaching barre classes every day — a low impact workout that combines ballet, pilates, and yoga movements. The classes are popular with all age groups so you need to be comfortable teaching beginners as well as regular members.
Job Role
- Lead barre fitness classes for groups of students every day
- Plan class routines and make sure they match Pure Barre's format
- Help students with their form and correct technique during class
- Welcome new members and make them feel comfortable in their first class
- Keep the studio floor clean and equipment organized after each class
- Track class attendance and report numbers to the studio manager
- Stay updated on new barre techniques and incorporate them into classes
Working Hours
- Full-time: 30 to 40 hours per week
- Morning and evening classes available
- Weekend classes are part of the schedule
- Class timings are fixed so you know your schedule in advance

Requirements
- A Pure Barre certification or equivalent barre instructor certification
- At least 1 year of experience teaching fitness or barre classes
- Comfortable standing and demonstrating movements for long periods
- Friendly and encouraging with students of all fitness levels
- Punctual and reliable — classes run on a fixed schedule
- CPR and First Aid certification is required
- Good energy in the classroom — you set the tone for the whole session
Experience
At least 1 year of experience teaching barre, yoga, pilates, or a similar fitness class is required. Candidates with a Pure Barre certification will be considered first. If you have a strong fitness background and are willing to get certified, that will also be considered.

Q1. Do I need a Pure Barre certification specifically or will another barre cert work?
A Pure Barre certification is preferred but equivalent barre or fitness certifications are also considered. If you do not have one yet, Pure Barre offers certification programs you can complete before joining.
Q2. Are the class timings fixed or do they change every week?
Class schedules are set in advance so you will know your timings ahead of time. Changes happen occasionally but you will always be informed early.
Q3. Can I teach other fitness classes alongside barre at the studio?
This depends on the studio's needs at the time. Some Pure Barre studios also offer additional fitness formats. You can discuss this during your interview with the studio manager.
