Job Description

Amazon is looking for people to work at their warehouse as fulfillment center associates.

The job is about getting inventory, picking the things that customers have ordered, packing them up, and making sure everything is correct before it gets sent out.

Amazon needs people to do this job to help get customer orders ready to ship from the warehouse.

The job is a fit for people who can work in a warehouse, follow safety rules, and finish tasks on time. You don't need to have worked in a warehouse; if you're chosen, you'll get training before you start your regular job duties.

Job Duties

The selected candidates will carry out the following warehouse activities:

  • Accept incoming products and check inventory.
  • Use handheld barcode scanners to scan items.
  • Product placement according to warehouse procedures.
  • Pick customer orders from stock areas.
  • “Package products carefully to prevent any damage in transit.
  • Print shipping labels and attach.
  • Review the order details prior to dispatch.
  • Put products in their proper warehouse areas.
  • Report any missing or damaged items to the supervisors.
  • Keep the work area free of clutter.
  • Follow the safety instructions when handling the products.
  • Assist with warehouse operations during peak times.

Candidate Requirements

The applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • The minimum age is 18 years.
  • High school, 12th pass, or equivalent qualification is desirable.
  • Basic understanding of English instructions.
  • Basic math skills to handle inventory.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 49 lbs of product.
  • Be able to stand or walk for long periods of time.
  • Willingness to work in various warehouse temperatures.

Skills Required

Candidates should have:

  • Attention to detail well.
  • Capable of performing repetitive tasks with accuracy.
  • Basic communication abilities.
  • Teamwork and good attitude.
  • Well organized.
  • Ability to adhere to standard operating procedures
  • Time management skills. 
  • Ability to learn new procedures in the warehouse.

Experience

  • Freshers may also apply.
  • Experience in warehouse operations, logistics, retail, manufacturing, or inventory management is an advantage.
  • Applications are also welcome from candidates with experience in packing, picking, shipping, or stock handling.

Working Schedule

Amazon offers different shift options depending on operational needs.

  • Full-time and part-time positions.
  • Day shift, night shift.
  • Weekend hours.
  • Overtime opportunities during busy periods.
  • Shift lengths are usually between 8 and 10 hours.

Work Environment

This job is in a warehouse where warehouse workers will be walking around to work stations all day. The work that warehouse workers do will depend on which department they're, in. For example, warehouse workers may work on getting shipments in, sorting items, packing boxes, sending out orders, or keeping track of inventory in the warehouse.

We need to follow the company rules about wearing safety gear and following safety rules at work all the time.

Before we start our jobs, we will get training on how to do things in the warehouse and how to use the equipment.
