Personal Care Assistant and Caregiver Opening - Right at Home

Right at Home Northwest Houston is hiring Personal Care Assistants and Caregivers to join our team! In-home assistance for seniors and adults needing help with daily activities but wanting to stay in the comfort of their homes. We are hiring now in Northwest Houston and surrounding communities.

What you'll do

No two schedules are alike, as every client has an individual care plan. Clients are sometimes helped for just a few hours a day, and others have longer visits.

Daily responsibilities can include:

• Help clients with morning and evening routines.
• Help with bathing, dressing, grooming and personal hygiene.
• Prepare and serve meals according to their diet.
• Doing the dishes and cleaning up the kitchen after eating
• Laundry, changing bed linens, light housework.
• Shopping for food and household supplies.
• Companion at home visits.
• Transportation to medical appointments if part of the care plan.
• Care activities documented before the end of each visit.
• Notify the office coordinator of any changes in a client’s condition.

Application Requirements

In general, applicants should be able to provide:

• Legal Immigration Status in the United States.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred. 
• Valid Driver’s License for transportation assignments .
• Reliable transportation for myself.
• Auto insurance today.
• Ability to pass a background screening.
• Basic English reading and communication ability.
• Experience as a caregiver, personal care assistant, home health aide or certified nursing assistant is helpful, but not required for each opening. New team members get paid training.

Working Hours 

The schedules are determined by the availability of the caregiver and the request of the client.

Assignments could include:

Good morning call.
Afternoon tours.
Night shifts.
Care at night.
Schedules weekends.

Once the clients are assigned, the office will develop schedules on a weekly basis. There may be more hours as new clients start receiving services.

Annual Salary & Employee Benefits

Estimated annual earnings are between $44,000 and $56,000, depending on scheduled hours, experience and client assignments.

Physical Demands of the Work

This is an active position requiring you to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop and move around the worksite during your shift.

Caregivers should be comfortable with activities like:

• Walking through clients homes.
• Extended periods of standing.
• Assisting clients to move safely.
• Carrying groceries or household goods.
• Bending over, reaching and doing light housework.

Physical demands will be related to the needs of individual clients.
