District Customer Service Manager – NYC Transit
Description
Senior management role within NYC Transit's Station Environment & Operations division. You'll oversee all operations — customer service, cleaning, maintenance, and safety — across a zone of approximately 125 subway stations.
Reports to the Vice President of Station Environment & Operations.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operations across ~125 subway stations
- Lead project groups handling cleaning, sanitizing, painting, and track tile operations
- Create and enforce policies for customer service, cleanliness, and ADA accessibility
- Oversee budgeting, resource allocation, and inventory control
- Monitor station performance and recommend service improvements
- Ensure staff training and compliance with safety and OSHA regulations
- Handle unionized workforce matters per Collective Bargaining Agreements
Requirements
- Bachelor's in Business, Public Administration, Transportation Management, or related field
- 10 years relevant experience — 7 must be in a managerial/supervisory role
- Strong leadership of large unionized teams
- Knowledge of ADA regulations, automated fare collection, and construction trades
- Excellent communication and decision-making skills
Benefits & Additional Info
- Salary: $135,728 – $192,646
- Eligible for the 55-a Program
- Annual financial disclosure required if salary exceeds $105,472
- All appointments made on NYCT payroll
