District Customer Service Manager – NYC Transit
Description

Senior management role within NYC Transit's Station Environment & Operations division. You'll oversee all operations — customer service, cleaning, maintenance, and safety — across a zone of approximately 125 subway stations.

Reports to the Vice President of Station Environment & Operations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations across ~125 subway stations
  • Lead project groups handling cleaning, sanitizing, painting, and track tile operations
  • Create and enforce policies for customer service, cleanliness, and ADA accessibility
  • Oversee budgeting, resource allocation, and inventory control
  • Monitor station performance and recommend service improvements
  • Ensure staff training and compliance with safety and OSHA regulations
  • Handle unionized workforce matters per Collective Bargaining Agreements

Requirements

  • Bachelor's in Business, Public Administration, Transportation Management, or related field
  • 10 years relevant experience — 7 must be in a managerial/supervisory role
  • Strong leadership of large unionized teams
  • Knowledge of ADA regulations, automated fare collection, and construction trades
  • Excellent communication and decision-making skills

Benefits & Additional Info

  • Salary: $135,728 – $192,646
  • Eligible for the 55-a Program
  • Annual financial disclosure required if salary exceeds $105,472
  • All appointments made on NYCT payroll
