Assistant Store Manager - Full-Time
Description

ALDI is hiring an Assistant Store Manager to support day-to-day store operations. You'll work closely with the Store Manager — helping run the floor, managing the team, keeping things organised, and making sure customers get good service consistently.

It's a hands-on role. You won't just be delegating — you'll be on the floor, solving problems, training staff, and making sure the store runs the way it should.

Responsiblities:

  • Assist the Store Manager with action plans to improve store performance
  • Supervise daily operations and make sure team members are completing their responsibilities on time
  • Set clear expectations with direct reports and follow up on performance
  • Identify training opportunities and help the team grow
  • Handle customer concerns when the Store Manager isn't available
  • Participate in interviewing and onboarding new staff
  • Monitor stock levels and assist with product ordering
  • Make sure shelves are properly stocked and merchandise looks presentable
  • Ensure product quality, freshness, and correct signage at all times
  • Keep the store clean, safe, and equipment in good working order
  • Handle cash control and inventory procedures properly
  • Stay on top of the competitive environment locally and report relevant observations

Physical Requirements

  • Comfortable lifting and stocking products up to 45 lbs
  • Able to stand, walk, bend, reach, push, and pull throughout the shift
  • Must be able to operate store equipment — hand jack, floor scrubber, cardboard baler

What We're Looking For

  • 18 years or older
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a retail environment
  • Prior management or supervisory experience preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
  • Strong communication skills — with both customers and team members
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and stay organised under pressure
  • Comfortable working with budgets, scheduling, and personnel costs
  • Meets state and local requirements for handling alcoholic beverages where applicable

Pay & Benefits

Starting: $27.50/hour → $28.50/hour from Year 2
